SPEED LIMITS

This is where Cyprus differs a lot to the UK. The signs indicating the speed limit will normally only be displayed when you are entering a speed change zone. Once you have entered this zone you will very rarely find the signs repeated until you go into a change of speed zone or enter into a different municipal boundary.

It is often not clear when a speed limit ceases to apply so always be careful of your speed.

All speed limits in Cyprus are posted in kilometers per hour (Kph). Below is a rough guide to the speed limits:

Highway 100 KPH 62 MPH
Built up areas 50 KPH 31 MPH
Country Roads 65 KPH 40 MPH
National Speed Limit 80 KPH 50 MPH

Please be aware that if you are towing these speed limits will vary.
